Running with the Feeder Assembly
Setting the
H-Block
Assembly
Whenever the printer will be printing on a different media
type it is necessary to re-align the spacing between the H-
Block and the rollers.
The next five steps will instruct the operator on how to
correctly adjust the H-Block spacing for printing on a
particular type of media. Readjust the thickness of the
H-Block if the printer continues experiencing misfeeds
or hesitation in feeding.
Lift lever up.
Open the Inner & Outer Fences away from the center of
the feeder.
1. Raise the Lever on the "H" Block Assembly
completely up to lift the block to the highest
position and secure in place.
Place Media under H-Block
(Shown without the Feed Ramp)
2. Manually place one piece of the media between
the separator fingers (lower section of the "H"
block) and the feed roller.
4. Release and lower the "H" Block. Let it fall
freely onto the media. When lowering the "H"
block, verify the media is between all separator
fingers and the Feed Roller.
5. Press the Lever down to secure it in place.
6. The input bin area can now be filled with the
desired media for printing. The media stack
should be "shingled" when loaded into the input
bin with flap facing downward. Start with just a
few envelopes to start the stack and get the
proper contour then add more pieces.
Press lever down.
Post cards - set a smaller gap between the
separators and feed roller, by using standard copy
paper (.003" [0.076 mm] thickness).
Stuffed Media - set a larger gap between the
separator blocks and the feed roller, by adding two or
three, number ten (# 10) envelopes, on top of the
media before setting the separators
Hint: If you are experiencing
feeding problems using post cards
or stuffed media. Try out the
suggestions listed for Post cards,
Stuffed Media and Magazines &
Booklets.
